Alessi's mission
Founded in 1921 as a "Workshop for the processing of brass and nickel silver, with foundry", Alessi has always been recognized for the high quality of its products. Over almost a century of history, it has gradually evolved to become a leading exponent of "Factories of Italian Design", capable of applying the skills and excellence achieved in design management to very different product types.
Open to change and international development, the company is at the same time deeply rooted in the tradition and cultural background of its territory: Alessi continues to be synonymous with handcrafted objects made with the aid of machines.
Today, Alessi's mission is to translate the pursuit of the most advanced cultural, aesthetic, executive and functional quality into industrial series production. The design product arises from the constant search for mediation between art and industry, between "the Immensity of Creative Possibility" and market needs.
The company's commitment is to constantly work on a boundary line, balancing the most advanced expressions of international creativity and the wishes of the public. Alessi has been defined as a "Dream Factory": through its products, it aspires to contribute to responding to people's desire for happiness, a need for Art and Poetry common to all people.
Since 1921, the year the company was founded, most Alessi objects have been made with cold metalworking and, even today, are produced in Italy by the specialized craftsmen of the Crusinallo di Omegna plant. Even when it takes place outside the Crusinallo plant, the guidelines that Alessi has defined guarantee the same quality standards as the company's original production, in a continuous mediation between the technological complexity of industry and the attention to detail of craftsmanship.
